  • October 5th, 1992: New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation established a branch office in Taiwan - NYLIAC Taiwan Branch.
  • March 1993: Launched Children Education Fund Insurance.
  • April 1994: Launched overseas emergency services.
  • May 1995: Set a sales division to develop bancassurance and direct marketing businesses.
  • November 1995: Launched worldwide Claim Services.
  • December 1995: Launched 24-hour policyholder services.
  • October 1996: Launched emergency aid services for policyholders when driving and the services for returning premiums via bank accounts.
  • August 1997: Launched the services of first year premium payment through credit card.
  • October 1998: Launched 24-hour service hotline 0800-088008.
  • May 1999: Started the first customer satisfaction survey.
  • June 1999: Introduced ISO Certification System for service center.
  • First quarter of 2000: New premium growth reached 236%, followed by 119% in the second quarter. NYLIAC Taiwan Branch became the second largest foreign life insurance company in Taiwan.
  • July 2001: Our service center received ISO9001: 2000 certification for quality assurance standard.
  • May 2002: NYLIAC Taiwan Branch ranked first for the fastest-growing foreign life insurance company in two consecutive years, according to Common Wealth's 2002 survey.
  • June 2002: Established the one-stop service center.
  • July 1st, 2002: NYLIAC Taiwan Branch officially became a subsidiary and was named New York Life Insurance Taiwan Corporation.
  • January 2003: Pioneered new technologies "online agent system" was made available to our agents to help them providing more up-to-date services to our customers.
  • August 2003: "New York Life University" was established to consolidate internal and external training resources for all our employees and agents.
  • October 2003: Aiming to upgrade the e-service and provide a comprehensive e-service networks to policyholders, NYLITC launched the digital on-line services for customers as well as a PDA marketing system for agents to advance their competitiveness.
  • February 2004: "Chu Pao Pen Variable Universal Life (VUL) Policy" was launched.
  • August 2004: NYLITC was the first insurance company that was permitted to issue the VUL policies to the children under age 14.
  • April 2005: New York Life Insurance Company celebrated its 160 anniversary.
  • July 2005: NYLITC sponsored world-class performance "Cirkus Inferno".
  • October 2005: NYLITC hosted charity sales for 2006 desk calendar by using the artwork contributed by the participants in the child painting competition. The proceeds of charity sales were donated to Maria Social Welfare Foundation.
  • October 2005: NYLITC entered into an exclusive strategic alliance with Bank of Overseas Chinese to expand its bancassurance business.
  • 2005: Around 100 NYLITC agents received the MDRT qualifications as a milestone for New York Life in Taiwan.
  • April 2006: Sponsored the 35th New York Life Youth Cup Volley Ball Games of Taipei through the cooperation with the Volley Ball Committee under the Taipei City Council of Physical Fitness and Sports.
  • July 2006: NYLITC received the "Insurer of the Best Distribution Strategies" award and the "Insurer of the Best Social Responsibility" recognition from Insurance FHL.
  • October 2006: NYLITC issued a co-branded credit card with Bank of Overseas Chinese.
  • October 2006: In celebrating the 14th anniversary, NYLITC hosted the anniversary events, including an internal softball game and a family fair by inviting policyholders and disabled children from Maria Social Welfare Foundation for celebration together. The proceeds originated from charity sales of event vouchers were donated to Maria Social Welfare Foundation to promote better quality of life for next generations.
  • July 2007: NYLITC received the “Insurer of the Best Distribution Strategies” award and the “Insurer of the Best Product Originality”, “Insurer of the Best Distribution”, “Agency of the Best Consultant“ and “Insurer of the Best Insurance Achievement” recognition from Insurance FHL.
  • August 2007: NYL received the highest ratings for financial strength from the life insurance industry’s principal rating agencies: Standard & Poor's (AA+), Moody's (Aaa), Fitch (AAA) and A.M. Best (A++).
  • October 2007: In celebrating the 15th anniversary, NYLITC hosted the New York Life Insurance Taiwan Corporation celebrated its 15th anniversary With the Theme of “Love, Hope and Felicity”. NYL Taiwan continued its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program with Maria Social Welfare Foundation, which they have been working with in the past few years. For instance, prior to the anniversary, the donation program was initiated. The result was encouraging and NTD400,000 was raised internally within 2 weeks with the Company matching the same amount.
  • November 2007:NYLITC launched “Whole Life Product with Accelerated Hospitalization Benefits”, an unique health with cap product with the most comprehensive covers in the industry.
  • January 2008:This Taiwan’s unique sand animation TVC Ad represented NYLITC’s innovation in commercials on its 15th anniversary in Taiwan. The TVC Ad mainly presents the idea of “People are the ultimate treasures that we cherish.”
  • March 2008:NYLITC and Polaris Securities have announced a five-year strategic partnership agreement, allowing the distribution of NYLITC products through Polaris brokerage channels, the first alliance between insurance company and securities brokerage in Taiwan.
